Founded in 2001 as part of the Benchmark Group of Companies, we’ve grown from a small mining maintenance outfit into a trusted, multi-discipline contractor delivering projects across mining, energy, infrastructure, and government sectors. Guided by Build • Maintain • Reinforce, we provide end-to-end solutions from design and drafting through to fabrication, installation, and long-term maintenance.

From Local Mining Maintenance to Full-Service SMP Contractor
Founded in 2001, BMR has expanded its services from mining maintenance into structural, mechanical, and piping works, civil and electrical packages, and full project delivery. Key milestones include:
1999
Benchmark Recruitment founded to service the engineering, mining, and construction industries.
2001
BMR Fabrication established, initially focused on mining maintenance in WA
2000s–2010s
Expanded services into SMP, civil, and electrical works; became a key maintenance contractor for Hamersley Iron and Rio Tinto in Paraburdoo.
2014
Co-founded Waalitj, a 51% Indigenous-owned company, to increase Indigenous engagement in mining and construction.
Today
A full-service fabrication and project delivery company with proven capability in metropolitan and remote operations, including the Pilbara, Wheatbelt, and offshore projects.
